FAQ
How far in advance should we book?
A. As soon as you know you want to book a session, email me!
Summer and fall are my busiest times and sessions can book up quickly! If you want photos in their fall prime time, email me ASAP!
How do we choose a location?
A. Together we will work to choose a location that will provide the best background for the photos that you want! I'm always open to new location ideas if you have a place that is special to your family. If you don't have anywhere in mind, I have lots of locations I've been to over the years to choose from!
What should we wear?
A. The attire of your session is completely up to you! The most important thing is that you and your family feel comfortable in what you're wearing.
You can dress casually, coordinate with a specific colour scheme, match completely, or dress up... it's totally up to you!
Think ahead to how you want your photos to turn out. If you plan on printing them and hanging them in your home (which I highly recommend!), then aim for clothing that will look cohesive and coordinated in photos on display.
What happens if we're awkward/don't photograph well?
A. Don't fret! I am here to help!
I try to keep sessions low-key and relaxed and together we will work to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera!
My sessions involve minimal posing but LOTS of direction. I'll help guide you through different movements and prompts that result in fun and natural photographs!
What if there is inclement weather?
A. Because all of my shoots are outdoors, there is an occasional time where the weather forces us to reschedule.
In the event that there will be inclement weather, we will work together to find a new date that works for both of us!
Leading up to the session, I keep an eye on the weather and will keep in touch with you if it looks like we may need to reschedule.
Will you post our images on social media?
A. I love to share my work on my social media accounts... however, I always ask for permission first! If you're not comfortable with your photos being posted, then they stay completely private.
When will I see my photos?
A. Within a couple of days of the session, I will have a sneak peak ready! With your permission, I usually post a couple of my favourite images from the session on my social medias. If you're not comfortable with your photos being posted or the images are a surprise gift, I will share a few favourites with you privately!
Galleries are usually ready within 2 weeks of a session. I will let you know at our session if I expect it will take longer. If you need the images sooner than within the two weeks, we can chat to arrange something!
Who chooses which images I receive?
A. I choose the final images which are delivered to you through an online gallery. I pick the images ones based on my creative and professional opinion!
How do we receive our images?
A. I use Pixieset galleries to deliver all of my sessions! Once the images are ready, you will receive an email that will guide you to your gallery. There is a password to the gallery to ensure privacy.
In the gallery, you can download your images to share or print.
Do you photoshop images?
A. The images that are delivered are edited through Lightroom. This adjusts the colours and brightness of the images. If needed, I can remove spots or fly away hairs.
All editing is minor and to enhance the raw images. Subjects are never edited drastically; under no circumstances do I edit skin or change figures.
Do you print photos?
A. At this time, I do not offer printing in any of my packages.
However, I highly recommend printing images after your session to share with family and to display in your home.
